Clinical Services

Holistic & Wellness

Recovery involves the whole person: mind, body, and spirit. Everwell's wellness program runs alongside clinical treatment (never in place of it): yoga, guided meditation, sound bath sessions, and walks by Lake Mission Viejo that teach the body calm it can keep.

What This Work Looks Like

Calming the Nervous System

Early recovery often means a body stuck in alarm. Breath-led yoga teaches the nervous system, physically, how to down-shift, a skill that outlasts the class.

Clinical detail

Yoga with breathwork (pranayama) supports autonomic regulation: improving vagal tone and shifting the balance toward parasympathetic ('rest and restore') activity.

Riding Out Cravings Mindfully

Cravings feel permanent while they're happening, but they crest and pass. Mindfulness practice teaches you to observe the wave without acting on it; acute cravings often ease within about 15 to 20 minutes when ridden out this way, a technique the research literature calls urge-surfing.

Clinical detail

Practices build non-reactive interoceptive awareness. Urge-surfing derives from mindfulness-based relapse prevention (Marlatt and colleagues), which treats cravings as time-limited waves to be observed rather than obeyed.

Restoring the Body

Substances deplete the body; recovery restocks it. Chef-prepared whole-food meals, movement, and consistent sleep are treated as clinical priorities, not perks.

Clinical detail

Somatic restoration and metabolic rebalancing: nutrition, structured exercise, and sleep hygiene as adjunctive, evidence-informed supports for mood, energy, and craving regulation.

Tools You Take Home

Every practice here is chosen to be portable: routines for regulation you can keep doing in ordinary life, long after treatment ends.

Clinical detail

The aim is adaptive self-regulation: sustainable daily routines that replace substance use as the primary means of managing internal states.

Holistic wellness practices complement clinical treatment. They do not replace it. All wellness programming at Everwell runs alongside evidence-based medical and therapeutic care.

Questions About Holistic & Wellness

Do I need yoga or meditation experience?

None. Every class is led for all experience levels and adapted to what early-recovery bodies actually need: no performance, no pressure.

Is holistic care a replacement for therapy or medication?

No. Wellness practices are adjunctive: they support and strengthen clinical treatment but never substitute for it.
